Our Spring 2025 Trends Spotlight: Polka Dots, Powder Blue, and Voluminous Denim

It may be because of our Minnesota roots, but spring is one of our favorite seasons to dress for. There's so much potential! Winter is over and you can give your puffer jackets and wool overcoats a break and get creative with outerwear. You can bare your toes and legs once more while still layering up with a cute light jacket. It's a time to embrace bright colors, new denim washes, and a few trendy pieces to keep you in step with the season.

Whether you get your fashion inspiration from the runway, social media, vintage movie stars, or all of the above, spring 2025 trends have something for everyone. Ahead, check out some of the spring 2025 trends we're most excited about and take on March, April, and May with a closet of fun, fresh finds.

Spring trend #1: Red and blue

Trust us, this color combo doesn't have to scream Fourth of July celebration. Red and blue aren't just primary colors—they're also a cool, striking palette to play with this spring.

The easiest way to play with this color combo is a classic pair of blue jeans and a red top, like a vintage-inspired solid sweatshirt or tank or a striped sweater or T-shirt. The red instantly pops against calm, chill blue tones and feels beyond timeless. If you're worried about looking too patriotic, lean toward tomato or orange reds versus a blue or cherry red; orange and blue are complementary colors, so they look great together.

You don't have to wear red and blue together, either; a pop of red as a styling accent, like your shoes, a sweater tied around your waist or shoulders, or a bag, can make all the difference, even with a super-simple outfit. Pops of light blue are also trending, especially in footwear and knitwear; a soft, sweet powder blue is the reigning color of all the spring 2025 trends.

Spring trend #2: Reworked denim

Give your favorite wide- and barrel-leg jeans a subtle update for spring with surprising little details. We love contrast trim down the side like a tuxedo pant, contrasting fabric panels, and oversized, eye-catching front pockets.

If you're ready to go for the bold, try an ultra-wide leg jean with tons of volume or an exaggerated cuff. Keep your top layer fitted and simple if you're going voluminous on the bottom.

Spring trend #3: Stripes and polka dots

Spring is arguably the flirtiest, most playful of the seasons, so lean all the way in with chic stripes and sweet polka dot prints. You already know we love a great striped shirt; it's one of our forever go-tos, and spring 2025 trends include colorful twists on the classic black-and-white, swapping those shades for bright blue and vibrant red. Try stripes on your lower half with track pants or rock them all-over with a striped sweater dress. Even your socks are fair game! Stripes have a tomboyish appeal that makes them the perfect match for cargos and wide-leg jeans.

Polka dots add a feminine touch to any outfit, whether you're wearing a slinky polka dot slip dress with a jacket for date night or tossing a dotted tee over your favorite jeans. Spring #4: Ladylike layer

Fall's "lady jacket" gets a springy twist, returning as a chic knit cardigan in a similar buttoned-up shape. Given the "lion and lamb" nature of spring weather, this is the most practical purchase on your spring shopping list, not to mention the cutest. It's an easy way to dress up even your most casual denim, especially when styled with equally ladylike heels or ballet flats. Just add a bouquet of tulips and you're set.
